Hollywood is worth it.

Hey all,

I just wanted to say to everyone that I know Hollywood can be a toilet but don't ever give up guys.

Without the dreamers and the creatives like you and me, the Corporations would have nothing to rape and pillage and sell.

I know they release product which is not the most creative or groundbreaking all the time but that's only (And I know this is hard to believe)because they literally don't know how and literally don't care at all about the creative aspect. In Fact, they think it's YOUR job to care about the creativity and THEIR job only to sell it. They really don't care. To the corporations, if purple yodeling dinosaurs sells. They will gladly distribute them. It really isn't personal in the slightest. So, in short, the reason they don't release quality material is because noone has proven to them that quality material sells through the roof as much as Fluff. Which is not always the truth but many times is.
I know you guys know this stuff but I think you should give yourselves not a little but ALOT of credit. It is only the truly courageous people with dreams and vision which can come from obscurity and create something of quality lasting and passionate value which will impact people for a long time. And I think that in history, it has always been the creative people like you who end up being those people.

Learn to play the game. I know it hurts. Just friggin play it. And when the time is right. You will be able to contribute YOUR piece of lasting film to history. The one YOU want to make. Not the one they tell you to.
On the other hand, if reaching alot of people with your film is not your point.
Fire away! More power to you.
Although, I bet, like myself, you would like to do both. Reach a billion people with a film of the best quality you can give.

Well you know what? That is exactly what they would like you to do also! See, they don't care if it's crap OR quality. They just want it to work!

But they look to you to show up at their door with the magic.

I don't care about the crap of Hollywood as long as there is room for the choice few excellent ones who refuse to quit and make their movies too. And I can think of many filmmakers out there who do.

Keep your head up.

As both an actor & a film maker I would love to be in or make a popular film, because I want to entertain more than I want to make loads of money.

I know a writer who's worth about a million and he dosn't even have a credit to his name. All he ever dose is sell speck scripts and re-write other peoples stuff.

Maybe it's not "artisticaly" rewarding, but I don't think he minds. As he's living pretty dam good.
